The Foundations executive steward, Tony Medeiros uses the empowerment of the Word, educational, finance, and business tools, combined with Strategic Life Planning to inspire the men and women of LIFT.
Medeiros states, “generally speaking, it’s not their fault”. "Most of our brothers and sisters are the sum total of the environment, attitude, influence and behavior around them". “In some cases, we find a select few who do rise above these limitations and go on to be quite productive, but generally where love was present in the home”.
Medeiros states, "One of the Foundations faithful objectives is to spare our fellow brothers and sisters any avoidable pain”. “Moreover, to educate them, thereby avoiding a path of destruction and long term cyclical pain". "If you change the way you think, you can change the way you live and the Word can be the catalyst for that change”.
Previously, Medeiros managed and owned multiple technology companies; he was a past board member of several prison advisory groups and a volunteer for the National Prison Project. Concomitant to his devotion to these organizations, Medeiros served as an Ambassador to the National Chamber of Commerce. Tony also served on the board of directors and as Trustee for several of our nations most prestigious universities and colleges. He was appointed as the Bible study president and ordained by the Church Of God In Christ (COGIC), the fifth largest church in the world.
Currently, Medeiros and over one hundred thousand LIFT volunteers across the country, conduct programs based on Kingdom principles such as, Bible study, leadership lectures, entrepreneurial and financial skills, business planning, education, behavioral and de-escalation proficiency and the importance of maintaining a productive and constructive path of righteousness upon release. The Foundation also serves as advisors and assistants to Chaplin's and administrators within some of the country's most violent prisons. The LIFT Foundation has also partnered with other national and international organizations to extend and facilitate the ongoing outreach to communities, prisons and families.
As the third largest prison ministry in the world, Tony continues to steward The Lift Foundation for what he terms "one child, one woman, one man and one community at a time". Armed with his message of hope, wisdom, prosperity and truth, Medeiros expects to raise a new generation of Kingdom minded leaders with the ideology of the LIFT Foundations core values: Learn, Integrity, Faith and Transformation.
